...the inaugural website for Bossenberry Piano, established in 1898, capturing the expertise of four generations of piano tuners, technicians and musicians!
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada — February 2016
Bossenberry Piano.com
Brett Bossenberry, a fourth generation piano tuner and technician, knew it was time to create and launch the first website to showcase his family's rich musical heritage and family legacy, established in 1898.
This project involved research, copywriting, website development and logo design. We researched and created a "Celebrity Tuneups" page offering some insight to the big names in music his family has worked with over the years.
I met Brett while volunteering in the greenroom at a local Jazzfest. He had been hired for piano tuning for Russell Ferrante of the Yellowjackets and all the other artists during the weekend festival.

A note from Janet: Your Skype coaching (despite the 3 hour time difference), taking and talking me through setting up my store and payment system, teaching me how to engage clients online, then, move them from my personal page to my business page. What a profound help you are! I never could have accomplished so much so quickly without your guidance every step of the way. Patience and professional every step of the way, that’s you Lesley. Thank you. – Janet Morrison-Minto, California, USA
Want more? Find out the answer to the question: Janet, didn't you used to be a songwriter? I thought music was your life! What happened? Why beading?
I took a class and learned what I needed to do to get started. I bought some beads online and just dove on in. I have among my prized possessions one tiny30" strand of lovebeads I made for myself back in 1964 that has seen a lot of fascinating life, a lot of history being made. It suddenly reminded me of times with Van and, key point here, how much I have always loved his fans and how grateful I am to them. Once I got a powerful enough computer to be online, I realized that all the Vanfans were online too. I thought maybe it would be nice to reach out to them and see if I could make something beautiful for them to wear, just as a kind of 'thank-you for making a fond dream of mine come true' way back when. I had not used the name Janet Planet (that was Van's name for me, not mine) in decades, but I liked the name "Lovebeads By Janet Planet" a lot and I thought it might remind people of a happier time when we all had cherished dreams, when we were all young. “Elle Jay Media and LightningStrike Studios combined their experience and creativity to build a professional website that reflects our business in the best possible light. We appreciate their professional guidance in adapting to our views and processes, translating our ideas for the web. Last but not least, we appreciate their pride in what they do.” Dave Maggiolo, Matthew McCormick, Owners, Build Tru Group
The worldwide pandemic changed a lot of things, including the way people shop. To comply with Covid-19 protocols, Think Twice Canada , along with many businesses across the country, had to close its beautifully appointed boutique warehouse a number of times during lockdowns. To continue business, they needed an easy-to-manage e-commerce site that would enable them to sell online.
We went to work quickly, redesigning and migrating the site from its previous outdated and inflexible platform onto a modern, responsive WordPress system with integrated Shopify e-commerce. We also designed a new logo incorporating two "2"s to suggest a heart, symbolizing the love of fashion and twice-loved clothing.
The Think Twice team can now maintain the site right from their phones, photograph merchandise; upload to the shop; and add descriptions, brands, sizing, and pricing.
Debra, Think Twice Canada’s owner, comments, "Lesley, Elle Jay Media, and Jules, LightningStrike Studios, are a perfect team to work with. They are experts in the bigger picture, thinking things through from a business sense beyond the technical aspects of building an e-commerce site. Together they provide a great balance of warmth, understanding of my low-tech knowledge, and willing to do the heavy lifting on the complicated integration of the front-end website and the back-end e-commerce. They respect the customer experience as well as the need for speed in getting the site done. They are a pleasure to work with and easy to access, and they make things happen with specific tasks on a solid timeline."
